DIY Table lamp – Step by step

Lighting design, Table Lamp

A few months ago, I bought some nice side tables for my couch. When I was laying on my sofa in the evening, I was always facing the problem that I have no proper light to read a book. That is why I decided to build a table lamp for my side table. In an easy 4 step approach I will show you how to get the best results.

  1. Source of inspiration

I created a pinboard on pinterest with all table lamps that I loved to get inspired for my own creation.

2. Required supplies

Money Hot Glue Gun sticks: 9,61€ / 20 pieces = 0,16€ per table lamp (1/3 piece)

Money Plastic tubes: 2,99€ / (25cm x 150 = 3750 cm) =  0,24€ per table lamp / (5 x 25-30cm, 5 x 15cm & 5 x 10cm, 5x 5cm = 300 cm)

Money Nylon thread: 2,42€ / 100m = 0,08€ / ~4m per table lamp

Money Lamp equipment: 6,99€ per  table lamp

Total cost per table lamp = 7,47€ (excl. Hot Glue Gun)

DIY Pinboard made of straws

Decor, Pinboard

In the last few years I got a bunch of “save the date”-cards, wedding invitations, thank you cards and the like. I didn’t want to decorate my nice white walls with colored post cards that do not fit to each other and to my interior. So, I never found the right space for them and threw them away. When the couples visited me after their weddings and could not find their handmade cards, they were upset and I felt bad. This was why I was searching for a flexible and stylish solution that fits to my interior design: Pinboards are a structured way of decorating your wall. In my easy DIY approach, I demonstrate how you get the best results.

  1. Source of inspiration

On Pinterest I found very nicely decorated Pin Boards that inspired me to do my own one.

2. Materials needed

Money Plastic tubes: 2,99€ / (25cm x 150 = 3750 cm) =  0,39€ per pin board / (24 x 20 cm = 480 cm)

Money Hot Glue Gun sticks: 9,61€ / 20 pieces = 0,16€ per pin board  / 1/3 piece

Money Nylon thread: 2,42€ / 100m = 0,15€ / ~6m

Total cost = o,70€ (excl. Hot Glue Gun) per pin board

DIY Concrete Flowerpot

Allgemein, Decor, Flowerpot

I love the spring season as everything is becoming green. Only my apartment is still in winter mode. So I was searching for some nice plants for my home. For me a plant must bring additional value and should not only look good. So I was searching for herbs and bought a pot of cress. When I was home I realized that I have no pot for such an herb. So I decided to build one by myself with the help of concrete. Following my easy 4 step DIY approach, I demonstrate how you get the best results.

  1. Source of inspiration

I got inspired by all the nice Pinterest posts that I found, when I was typing in “concrete” and made my own DIY Concrete Deco pin board.

2. Materials needed

Money Concrete: 13,87€ / 2,5kg = ca. 5,55€ per 1kg

Money 2 plastic pots: I took 2 empty pickled cabbage-pots (1 small & 1 bige one)

Total cost = 5,55€ per pot (depending on the size)

search v2 Where to find:

You can buy concrete already mixed with sand or unmixed. I used unmixed concrete, but I think it is much easier, when you take the mixed version.

DIY Gift card Mother’s day

Decor, Gift cards

Mother’s day is coming closer and closer… only 3 days left! And as every year I am struggling to find the right gift for my mom. On the one hand my mom is really delighted about flowers. On the other hand this not very creative and personal. That is why I decided to add a nice individual card to the flower gift. In the easy DIY 4 step approach, I am showing you how to build really nice personal gift cards with the help of masking tape.

1. Source of inspiration

I got inspired by all the unconditional love my mom is giving to me. And she never is asking for something in return. A small personal gift card is the least that I can create to show my appreciation.

2. Materials needed

Money Post cards: 1,79€ / 25 cards = 0,07€ per card

Money Masking tape: 5 roles for 6,99€ = 1,40€ per role = ~0,10€ per painting

Total cost per card = 0,17€
